NINA ELIZABETH BIOGRAPHY
Nina Elizabeth (b.1989 in Guadalajara, Mexico) is a Danish/Mexican painter based in Copenhagen. Growing up between Denmark, Mexico and Sweden, she undertook her arts education in the UK, obtaining an MA from the Royal College of Art in London. Her work has been exhibited widely across Germany, UK, Belgium, Denmark, Portugal and Estonia.
Nina Elizabeth paints abstract and semi-abstract imagery of organic forms and luminous color. Concerned with capturing aesthetic qualities observed in nature, through her paintings she examines the rhythms, movements and color relationships inherent in the landscape. Central to her practice is a reflection on the moods and sensations of nature. Most importantly, she strives for the work to exude a certain kind of vitality.
Working primarily with oil, acrylic and watercolor on canvas and fabric, Nina Elizabeth’s paintings are built up of layers of delicate colors and dynamic brushstrokes. Her process consists of transforming and abstracting nature’s visual elements, seeking to tap into its energy and life-force.
